FBI attempts to question Chicago international solidarity activists. Don’t talk to FBI!
On November 15, three FBI agents came to the Chicago home of an international solidarity
The Seriously Free Speech Committee, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada, joins protestors, trade unions and solidarity groups in protesting the September 24 FBI raids on the homes of activists in Minneapolis, Chicago, Michigan and North Carolina. We defend their democratic right to free speech and association and support their courageous refusal to testify before a grand jury. We call for the return of all confiscated property, dropping the grand jury proceedings, and an end to FBI harassment of the left, labor and international solidarity movements.
SFSC originated in a SLAPP suit (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) against three local Palestinian-rights activists, and though the case has been suspended, the committee continued, with defense of free speech around the Israeli- Palestinian conflict as its primary mandate. Other violations of democratic rights concern us as well; we understand that a strike against one is a strike against all.
In solidarity,
Sheila Delany for SFSC
