Dayton Anti-War Group Solidarity Statement with Alejandro Orellana

On June 12th, 2025, Alejandro Orellana, an immigrant rights activist and Centro CSO member, was subject to a heinous raid and arrest by the FBI. Through concerted efforts from members of Centro CSO and the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Oppression, he was released swiftly the next day. However, the federal government is looking to keep pressing these bogus charges and smear his community work under the guise of “conspiracy to commit civil disorders” and “aiding and abetting to commit civil disorders”, all for standing up for immigrant rights and resisting the state-sanctioned terror being perpetrated by ICE.

The Dayton Anti-War Group stands in full solidarity with Alejandro and is calling for charges against Alejandro to be dropped IMMEDIATELY. We condemn the blatant attempt of state repression by federal authorities against Alejandro for peacefully protesting. Our neighborhoods, communities, and cities are seeing an intensified militarization of local, state, and federal law enforcement to bully, harass, and capture the most vulnerable among us in an attempt to deflect from the socio-economic woes of our country. We will work to ensure that further bullying from the state, under Trump’s clique of cronies, will be met with full force and community support.

Protesting is not a crime, and those of us in the streets and public spaces exercising our constitutionally guaranteed 2nd Amendment rights won’t flinch at continuing our work to stop US-led war and advocate legalization for all of our immigrant community members.  An attack on Alejandro is an attack on all of us, and we’re going to continue to remain stalwart in our commitments to our family, friends, neighbors, and fellow members of our community. Get ICE out of our communities, and stand tall and united against state repression.

JUSTICE FOR ALEJANDRO AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!
