Cleveland United Against War Says: Drop the Charges on Alejandro Orellana!
On June 12th, community organizer Alejandro Orellana was arrested in an FBI raid and is now facing sham federal charges of up to 5 years in prison for his work resisting ICE raids in Los Angeles.
Alejandro is a long-time leader in the immigrant rights and Chicano movement with @centrocso and is being targeted for speaking out. These charges are a clear attempt to criminalize protests and dissent.
Cleveland United Against War stands in full solidarity with Alejandro. As an anti-war organization, we know that attacks and political oppression on organizers and immigrants are attacks on our entire communities
Southern Californian Chicano and Latin American communities have shown that they have had ENOUGH of the Trump administration's fear tactics and crackdowns with ICE kidnappings across the region. Our movement is growing and the far right is scared of this fact.
We demand that all charges against Alejandro be dropped immediately. Protesting is not a crime. Organizing is not a crime. Say no to ICE deportations!
We refuse to be silent as the state slides deeper into fascism and continues to target those fighting for liberation.
